**🍜 Must-Try Thai Dishes** Start with pad Thai at Thipsamai, a legendary stall on Soi Buakhao that serves the dish for around 60 to 80 baht from 5 PM to midnight. Another essential is som tam (spicy papaya salad), available at Som Tam Nua on Walking Street for about 50 baht, open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. For a creamy coconut curry, try gaeng kiew wan at Mom Aroi on Soi 7, where a bowl costs 120 baht and the kitchen runs from 11 AM to 9 PM. **🦐 Seafood by the Sea** Pattaya's seafood is a highlight, especially at Naklua Fish Market, where you can buy fresh catches like prawns and squid from 6 AM to 6 PM and have them grilled on-site for 100 to 200 baht per kilo. For a sit-down meal, head to Mum Aroi on Naklua Soi 4, a cliffside restaurant known for its baked prawns with glass noodles, costing around 350 baht, open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Another favorite is Pupen Seafood on Jomtien Beach Road, where a steamed fish with lime and garlic runs about 400 baht, and they serve from 11 AM to 11 PM. **🍢 Street Food Stalls** The best street food clusters are along Soi Buakhao and around the Pattaya Night Bazaar. Look for grilled chicken skewers (gai yang) at 10 baht per stick from vendors near Soi LK Metro, typically from 6 PM to midnight. For a quick bite, try the banana roti (fried banana pancake) at a cart on Beach Road near Central Festival, priced at 30 to 50 baht, available from 4 PM to 11 PM. Don't miss the noodle soup stalls on Soi Hollywood, where a bowl of boat noodles costs 40 baht and they open from 7 AM to 3 PM. **🍽️ Local Thai Restaurants** For authentic Thai flavors, try Ruen Thai on Second Road, a long-standing restaurant with dishes like green curry and tom yum goong for 150 to 250 baht, open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Another gem is Jae Thong on Soi Chaiyapoon, known for its crispy pork with basil (pad krapow moo krob) at 120 baht, serving from 8 AM to 8 PM. If you want a family-friendly spot, head to The Kitchen on Thappraya Road, where a massaman curry costs 180 baht and they operate from 11 AM to 10 PM. **🌮 International Options** Pattaya has a strong international food scene, especially around Soi Bukhao and Jomtien. For Indian food, try Indian Rasoi on Soi 7, where a butter chicken with naan is about 250 baht, open from 11 AM to 11 PM. For Italian, La Baguette on Beach Road serves wood-fired pizzas from 200 baht, daily from 8 AM to 10 PM. And for a taste of Russia, head to Russian House on Pattaya Klang, offering borscht and pelmeni for 150 to 300 baht, open from 10 AM to 10 PM. **🍰 Sweet Treats and Desserts** Cool down with mango sticky rice at Mae Varee on Soi Buakhao, a stall selling the classic dessert for 80 baht from 4 PM to 10 PM. For ice cream, try Swensen's at Central Festival Pattaya Beach, where a sundae costs around 100 baht, open from 10 AM to 10 PM. Another local favorite is coconut ice cream from a cart on Walking Street, served in a coconut shell for 50 baht, available from 6 PM to midnight. **🍺 Drinks and Night Markets** Thepprasit Night Market is a must-visit for food and drinks, open Friday to Sunday from 5 PM to 11 PM, where you can get a large Chang beer for 60 baht and grilled seafood for 100 baht. For craft beer, check out Hopf Brew House on Soi 15, with pints from 150 baht, open daily from 4 PM to midnight. And for a nightcap, the bars along Soi 6 offer cheap cocktails starting at 100 baht, with happy hours from 6 PM to 9 PM. **💡 Practical Food Tips** Most street food stalls and markets are cash-only, so carry small bills in Thai baht. Tipping is not expected but appreciated, and a 10 to 20 baht tip is fine for good service. If you have dietary restrictions, learn a few Thai phrases like 'mai sai phrik' (no chili) or 'mai sai nam tan' (no sugar) to communicate with vendors. Finally, eat where the locals eat: busy stalls with high turnover are usually the safest and tastiest bets.
