**🍜 Must-Try Thai Dishes** Start with the classics: pad Thai, green curry, and som tam. For pad Thai, try Thip Samai (313-315 Maha Chai Rd, Phra Nakhon), open 5 PM to 1 AM, where the omelette-wrapped version costs around 80-120 THB. Green curry is best at Krua Apsorn (169 Dinso Rd, Phra Nakhon), open 10:30 AM to 8 PM, with prices from 100-200 THB. Som tam is a must at Som Tam Nua (392/14 Siam Square Soi 5, Pathum Wan), open 10:45 AM to 9:30 PM, where the spicy papaya salad starts at 75 THB. **🛺 Street Food Havens** Yaowarat (Chinatown) is a street food paradise after 6 PM. Don't miss Nai Ek Roll Noodle (442 Yaowarat Rd), open 6 PM to 2 AM, for rolled noodles at 60 THB. For grilled seafood, try Lek & Rut Seafood (Yaowarat Soi 11), open 6 PM to 12 AM, with dishes from 100-300 THB. Another hotspot is Soi 38 (Sukhumvit Soi 38), open 6 PM to 2 AM, where you can get boat noodles for 50 THB and mango sticky rice for 60 THB. **🍽️ Riverside Dining Spots** Supanniga Eating Room (Tha Tien, 392/25 Maha Rat Rd) offers a modern take on Thai cuisine with river views, open 11 AM to 10 PM, mains from 150-300 THB. For a splurge, try The Never Ending Summer (41/5 Charoen Nakhon Rd), open 11 AM to 10:30 PM, where dishes like crab curry cost around 350 THB. If you want a casual riverside meal, head to Baan Phadthai (21-23 Charoen Krung Soi 44), open 11 AM to 10 PM, with pad Thai from 120 THB. **🍛 Local Markets to Explore** Or Tor Kor Market (Kamphaeng Phet Rd, Chatuchak) is a clean, upscale market open daily 6 AM to 6 PM, where you can sample fresh fruit and prepared dishes from 50-200 THB. For a more authentic experience, visit Khlong Toei Market (Rama IV Rd), open 24 hours, with street stalls selling everything from grilled chicken to Thai desserts for under 100 THB. Wang Lang Market (Arun Amarin Rd, Bangkok Noi) is another gem, open 8 AM to 6 PM, known for its boat noodles and traditional snacks. **🌙 Late-Night Eats** After midnight, head to Soi Polo Fried Chicken (137/1-3 Soi Polo, Lumphini), open 7 AM to 11 PM, but the chicken is best after 8 PM, with a half chicken for 120 THB. For a true late-night feast, go to Je Fai (327 Maha Chai Rd), open 6 PM to 2 AM, famous for its crab omelette at 200 THB. Another option is Kuay Jab Nai Huan (Soi Sukhumvit 55), open 6 PM to 3 AM, serving peppery rolled noodle soup for 60 THB. **🍰 Sweet Treats and Desserts** Mango sticky rice is a must, and the best is at Kor Panich (431-433 Tanao Rd), open 7 AM to 6 PM, where a plate costs 80 THB. For coconut ice cream, try Natthaporn (Soi 5, Siam Square), open 11 AM to 9 PM, with a scoop for 30 THB. If you prefer something cold, head to After You Dessert Cafe (multiple locations, e.g., Siam Paragon), open 10 AM to 10 PM, where the shibuya honey toast is 195 THB. **💸 Budget-Friendly Tips** Street food is your best bet for cheap eats, with most dishes costing between 40-80 THB. Food courts like MBK Center (4th floor, Phaya Thai Rd) offer meal coupons starting at 50 THB, open 10 AM to 9 PM. For a filling meal under 100 THB, try the rice and curry shops (raan khao gaeng) found in every neighborhood, such as Jae Fai (327 Maha Chai Rd), open 5 PM to 12 AM, where you can get a plate for 60 THB. **🚇 Getting Around for Food** The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are the fastest ways to reach food districts. For Yaowarat, take the MRT to Wat Mangkon station (exit 3), then walk 5 minutes. For Sukhumvit Soi 38, take the BTS to Thong Lo station (exit 3). A rabbit card for BTS costs 200 THB (including 100 THB credit), and MRT fares start at 17 THB. Taxis are metered but often refuse; use Grab instead for reliable rides.
